How To Exfoliate Skin Naturally

Exfoliation is part of a healthy skin care regiment. There are different ways to naturally exfoliate your skin and reasons why this is important, all covered in this article.

Why would you want to exfoliate your skin?

The purpose of exfoliating is to remove dead skin cells as well as any leftover products you’ve applied to your skin.

Think about all the products that come in contact with your skin on a daily basis – perfume, sunscreen, bug repellent, cleaning products.

When you exfoliate your skin, it reveals healthier skin and prepares it for your next beauty treatment.

How To Exfoliate Your Full Body

A good routine is to exfoliate once a week with a gentle product.

When using a body scrub, start at your feet and work towards the heart. This helps eliminate toxins. Doing it in the opposite direction will push the toxins back into your system.

Be sure to use a very gentle facial scrub on your face and neck as these areas can be easily damaged.

What Ingredients Exfoliate Skin?

There are different types of products on the market that use a variety of ingredients to act as an exfoliant.

This may include coffee grinds, sugar, salt, or nutshells to name a few.

Everyone’s skin is different so it’s up to you to listen to your body. If it hurts, stop using that product because it’s too harsh for you.

What Exfoliation Products Should I Use?

Altus Advantage body scrubs come in the form of a bar. They are intentionally small so that you use them up in one to two treatments. This allows us to avoid using preservatives in our ingredients.

We use sugar to naturally give your skin a healthy glow.

Our exfoliating bars will foam and lather so they will clean you as well as exfoliate your skin.

To keep in line with our commitment to the environment, we choose to use compostable packaging. You will get four bars that will last you about as long as one of our full-size natural soap bars.

We also sell a gift set that includes a bar of natural soap, body butter, and body scrub for a full skin experience.

Exfoliation For Sensitive Skin

If you have sensitive skin, you should be aware that cream-based products generally include preservatives. Some skin types react to this additive.

Any product that gives you multiple uses may have additives to prevent mold. This is why Altus Advantage offers smaller bar sizes so if you do get mold, you’re only throwing away one bar and not your entire package.

Be mindful that if you are experiencing additional sensitivity after a treatment, you may not want to exfoliate as often.

Are you excited to give your skin the love and care that it deserves to have a healthy glow? This is just one step of your entire beauty routine. In addition to exfoliating your skin, be sure to clean, moisture, and protect it as part of your daily skin care practice.
